YAY! Socks are done!!
Freakin' finally! Dang, i thought it would never end! Plus, I have a size 11 foot so it was like extra work knitting the foot length. One of the socks feels smaller than the other. The second one I knit feels like my gauge was just a tad tighter. Oh well, my ginormous feet will stretch it out :D

Of course, my furbaby, Missy, had to make sure that the toe seam was done correctly. HAHA!
I had enough yarn left over to make baby socks. YAY!

I bought yarn yesterday... haha! It's a sickness.

Green yarn is for socks. Red Heart yarn is for slipper socks. But i have the right to change my mind at any time ;) hahah

Here is some great yarn that I unraveled from a thrift store sweater. it is chunky yarn and there is ALOT of yarn there.

Next up on the knitting agenda... Andy's fish blanket!

What kind of yarn are you?

You are Shetland Wool. You are a traditional sort who can sometimes be a little on the harsh side. Though you look delicate you are tough as nails and prone to intricacies. Despite your acerbic ways you are widely respected and even revered.

sooo... I gave in to the powers of the sock yarn and started to knit another pair of socks. The last couple of days I have been picking up the needles and then putting them back down again and playing games online or watching tv or whatever. I am on fish 7 or 8 of Andy's blanket. I have to knit 35 of the lil fishies. I start in knitting the fish pieces and then just... loose interest? I think it is because I try to knit in front of the computer. I have a laptop so I could just close the lid. But then I think of something I wanted to look up and there the lid opens again and I lose another 45mins to an hour on the internet. *sigh* I was watching tv when I started the sock. Now I am into the socks and will definately finish them. I think it is because the socks actucally need my attention to knit them. it keeps my interest. The fishies are monotonous. I have the pattern memorized now.
But I NEED to finish the blanket. i started on a sweater for Andy and havent picked it up since about July of last year. It is a lost cause. I havent gotten very far on it, thank goodness.

I also have this bigggggggggggg... crocheted afgan that i started and am about 1/4 way done with it. but i want to frog it all and make this. scrumptious scraps afgan
I totally have enough scrap acrylic yarn to make 4 of these. and i just might! :D

I think I just have a bit of spring fever. i get excited about knitting or crocheting something then i lose all interest again. maybe it is just A.D.D. hahaha...

I want to go back to my LYS and pick up some Noro Kuryeon but I dont want to spend like $10.50 a skein on it! I am sure that I can find some online and come out better even with the shipping.

Anyways, it is 11.30pm and I need to hit the sack. Mmmm... i love my bed. i dont know why i dont spend more time there.

Hello!

I went to the yarn store in Fayetteville yesterday and Guess what I am going to make!

YUP! I bought some Lorna's Lace sock yarn in "watercolor". SOOO pretty. I didnt have size #2 DPNs so I got some of those too. MmMm Addi's!
The store (Hand Held: A knitting gallery) is nice and they have alot of nice (and expensive) yarns. I have always been curious about Noro yarns. I seen the most referenced Noro yarn: Kuryeon. This yarn is GORGEOUS! but I dont get what the hype is about. It really isnt that soft. Maybe you have to hand wash it first...? It would make a gorgeous bag or maybe a shawl. I just cant imagine it close to the skin.
There are soooo many other yummy yarns there. They even have some recycled silk that I have also been curious about. Alot of different colors from what you see on ebay auctions and the like. There was some really pretty orange and yellow that I wouldnt mind having. But this yarn shop is like.... If you have to ask what the price of something is... maybe you dont need to be in there. Know what I mean? Anyways, the ppl there are nice and helpful. They even had a knitting class going on that I was watching. Very neat.
I then went to a thrift shop to see if there was any sweaters that I could "repurpose" the yarn. Nah, couldnt find any that I liked. But I did find a hank of some pretty grey worsted weight yarn. Just one though. Im guessing about 150 yards. Cant do much with it. Maybe some fingerless gloves?

Tonight I am going to have an opprotunity to sit down and knit on some more of the fishes for Andy's blanket. I might even take some pictures. I started on some fish for a baby blanket (same brite colors I used in my Star-gan).

Man, I look around this room and see all this great yarn that I THOUGHT I had great ideas for but the idea's fizzled out. I have 10 skeins of this beautiful yarn that is 100% wool and a great stawberry color. 1450 yards total but cant figure out what I want to do with it. Maybe a Clapotis... Maybe. I would probably make it in the bigger stole pattern. Meh.. Maybe start out and make a regular one. Who freakin knows! haha.

You know, I sit here and think about what I might do with all my knitted and crocheted items. I have SEVERAL UBW(ugly but warm) hats that I made. I wear some of them but I have so many... and I am sure that over the years I will accumulate alot more. I know there are several charities to donate to... I guess I just need to do more research in that area.

Well, Gotta go. Might try to take pix of the fish for the blanket since there is still alot of beautiful sunshine out there.

Have a great day!

Hi :)

I have another Blogger blog bloggity blog blog somewhere on there but I totally forgot the user/pass for it. SOOO here I am. back again. weee

I have a livejournal and a myspace account. blogger just adds to my obsession.

speaking of obsession... i love to knit and crochet
Here is my latest FO (finished object)

That's mousey checking out the situation.

Right now, I am working on a knit fish afagan for Andy, my stud muffin.
Here is a link to a pattern for it. I am making it in black, white and grey. I am also using 3 strands held together with size 13 needles so the fish are hella big! I only need 35 of them to make an oversized throw. I am using Caron's simply soft. Andy picked out the yarn :o

Saturday, I think I am going to go into Fayetteville and try to find Hand Held: A knitting gallery. It is a yarn shop with lots of paraphinalia! haha I have not ever been to a REAL yarn shop with lots of yummy wool. I just go to Hobby Lobby, Hancock Fabrics or Wal-Mart.

I am totally going to buy some yarn!!

I made my first pair of socks about a month ago. I knitted them with some worsted acrylic yarn. I bought the book Knit Socks! It is a pretty good book. I recommend it for sock beginners.
It is a pair of slipper socks because the yarn was so thick. I knitted it with a set of 5 size 3 DPNs (double pointed needles). Here is a picture of my first sock!

The sock is really big, especially around the ankles. That is why it looks like I have cankles. hahaha...
I have alot of sock yarn but havent gotten up the courage to make a pair I can wear with socks. Although, knitting socks is alot easier than it sounds... maybe I will try to start a pair this weekend. :)

Alright, Enough for one day!

Take care.
