Hello!

I went to the yarn store in Fayetteville yesterday and Guess what I am going to make!

YUP! I bought some Lorna's Lace sock yarn in "watercolor". SOOO pretty. I didnt have size #2 DPNs so I got some of those too. MmMm Addi's!
The store (Hand Held: A knitting gallery) is nice and they have alot of nice (and expensive) yarns. I have always been curious about Noro yarns. I seen the most referenced Noro yarn: Kuryeon. This yarn is GORGEOUS! but I dont get what the hype is about. It really isnt that soft. Maybe you have to hand wash it first...? It would make a gorgeous bag or maybe a shawl. I just cant imagine it close to the skin.
There are soooo many other yummy yarns there. They even have some recycled silk that I have also been curious about. Alot of different colors from what you see on ebay auctions and the like. There was some really pretty orange and yellow that I wouldnt mind having. But this yarn shop is like.... If you have to ask what the price of something is... maybe you dont need to be in there. Know what I mean? Anyways, the ppl there are nice and helpful. They even had a knitting class going on that I was watching. Very neat.
I then went to a thrift shop to see if there was any sweaters that I could "repurpose" the yarn. Nah, couldnt find any that I liked. But I did find a hank of some pretty grey worsted weight yarn. Just one though. Im guessing about 150 yards. Cant do much with it. Maybe some fingerless gloves?

Tonight I am going to have an opprotunity to sit down and knit on some more of the fishes for Andy's blanket. I might even take some pictures. I started on some fish for a baby blanket (same brite colors I used in my Star-gan).

Man, I look around this room and see all this great yarn that I THOUGHT I had great ideas for but the idea's fizzled out. I have 10 skeins of this beautiful yarn that is 100% wool and a great stawberry color. 1450 yards total but cant figure out what I want to do with it. Maybe a Clapotis... Maybe. I would probably make it in the bigger stole pattern. Meh.. Maybe start out and make a regular one. Who freakin knows! haha.

You know, I sit here and think about what I might do with all my knitted and crocheted items. I have SEVERAL UBW(ugly but warm) hats that I made. I wear some of them but I have so many... and I am sure that over the years I will accumulate alot more. I know there are several charities to donate to... I guess I just need to do more research in that area.

Well, Gotta go. Might try to take pix of the fish for the blanket since there is still alot of beautiful sunshine out there.

Have a great day!

Kureyon does soften up a LOT with washing and with wear, but I still wouldn't make a next to the skin thing with it other than a hat or scarf...like I wouldn't make a pullover sweater, but I'd use it for a cardigan.
